Fall/Winter Favorites

I've never done a monthly favorites anything (ie. video, post, shout out, etc.) so I figured I'd share a few of my favorite fall/winter items! So go ahead and grab a glass of coffee, water, wine, whatever you're in to and let's dive on in!

1. Over-sized sweaters. You guys- I can't live without these things. Okay, maybe that's a bit melodramatic, but you get the point. Being a born and raised New England-er, I am was used to the frigid fall weather, that is until my family and I moved to FL my senior year of high school (talk about culture shock!) where I became a wimp with the fall weather. My husband and I then moved to NC and most recently MO, so you could basically say I'm from everywhere. It gets a little complicated when I have to explain where I'm from. Anyway, over-sized sweaters are the comfiest things and are the perfect transition piece from summer to fall. Since they hang lower than a regular sized sweater, they're perfect to be paired with leggings or tights and provide just enough warmth. LOVE.

2. Leggings/Jeggings, basically anything that ends in eggings. Is that weird? Who/what's normal these days? I practically live in leggings all fall/winter because they're basically pajama pants and if you pair it with a hi-lo top that covers your bum then it's appropriate to wear them as pants. Seriously what sounds better? Jeggings give off a denim look but are so stretchy and comfy- perfect for us girls who hate wearing regular jeans. Ahem, me.

3.  Dark lips. I'm not a bright red lipstick kind of girl, but I do love a deep red/plum color in the fall/winter months. I stepped out of my comfort zone of never wearing anything darker than a pink-nude lip and tried Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stain in Smitten and instantly fell in love. It's that perfect dark color without looking like a complete vamp. It also looks great with my fair skin which is hard to do!

4. Coffee and more coffee. I'm a true coffee drinker year round, but I crave it more so when it's subzero outside when all I want to do is crawl back in bed with my fur babies and hide for hours under the covers. There's something about that warm (or cold) sip that makes me feel so comforted. My favorite is to discover locally owned coffee shoppes, but for a quick morning run, Starbucks and DD will do. The best are lazy weekend days with a couple cups, snuggled on the couch in sweatpants (because who wears anything else at home) with a huge blanket!

5. Hot bubble baths. Fall/winter wouldn't be complete without hot bubble baths! I love using bath fizzes/bombs/melts because they make any regular bath so amazing. Baths are the perfect relaxer after a long, hard day, especially after a day of holiday shopping- ugh. And of course I had to include Zoe's Fizz Bar since she's my favorite blogger and I can't wait to get my hands on her products this holiday season!

What are some of your season essentials? Is it freezing where you live yet? Let me know in the comments below!
