How to Banish Dry, Damaged Hair

If you're not familiar with my blog, in September of 2014 I introduced a new series called "Let it Grow," where each month I try different combinations of "hair growth tips" that I research and on the 15th of each month I take a picture to measure just how much they're speeding up the average hair growth process to determine what's myth vs. fact. To read month 1, click here, month 2, click here, month 3, click here and month 4, click here. Stay tuned for month 5 which will be live January 15!

I also got a bad ridiculous, horribly short haircut back in August (I try to block this out of my memory) because the hairstylist tried to convince me that my long hair was too damaged and needed to be chopped off. Never. Again. By super short I mean a little above my shoulders which is the shortest haircut I've had in my entire life, so it was a major shock to me. I can't pull off a super short hairdo and miss my long locks.

Since I'm growing my hair out, I want it to be in the healthiest condition possible, especially since I use heat on a daily basis. To protect and nourish my hair, my go-to product has been InstaNatural's Argan Oil Hair Mask*, a deep conditioning treatment designed to transform dry and damaged hair into shiny, soft healthy hair. It contains restorative ingredients such as Japanese Green Tea, Argan Oil, Amino Acid Complex, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil and Vitamin B5. That's a lot of natural ingredients, friends.

The texture is super thick and the smell is divine. It's a cross between vanilla and honey in my opinion. I've been using it twice a week for the past couple months and it's made such a difference in my hair. I don't find myself reaching for a finishing serum to put on the ends of my hair after styling on the days I use this mask, and I'm a hair product junkie. Unlike most hair masks that recommend not using more than twice a week, this can be used as an everyday conditioner as it's gentle on the hair.

I'm a little sneaky in that for last month's "Let it Grow" post, I had been using the mask for over two months and you can tell how shiny it is compared to month three's picture:

A flash was NOT used on my camera, but the ceiling light in the room was on for both pictures.
I can't get over how much it's repaired my hair! The mask is fairly inexpensive compared to other high-end ones and can be purchased for just $17.95 for an 8 oz. jar. A little goes a long way, so make sure you use it sparingly- the jar will last you quite a long time! I've barely put a dent in mine as much as I've used it these past couple months.
