Let it Grow: Month 5

Hello beauties! How are we already in the middle of January? I can't believe this is my fifth post in this series- I'm so happy you've been loving them!

If you're not familiar with my blog, in September I introduced a new series called "Let it Grow," where each month I try different combinations of "hair growth tips" that I research and on the 15th of each month I take a picture to measure just how much they're speeding up the average hair growth process to determine what's myth vs. fact. {To read month 1, click here, month 2 click here, month 3 click here and moth 4 click here}

The picture from month 1 was taken on September 15, a few weeks after a haircut where I was talked into how damaged it was so it needed to be cut short, blah blah blah. Each month since, I've taken a picture on exactly the 15th.

Last month I shared that I did my own ombre/balayage at home which looked great for the first couple of weeks, but it turned brassy and a dark red which didn't look good. Needless to say, I'm back to my natural dark brown.

Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with this month's progress! I'm just past the 14 inch mark which is only 6 inches away from my goal of 20 inches! Also, keep in mind that I kept my hair in its natural waves for this picture, so straightening would add just a pinch of length.

To see if I can grown it longer for month 6, I'm going to continue taking 5,000 MCG of Biotin and a multivitamin like I did last month, but add apple cider vinegar rinses into the mix. Apple cider is a natural remedy to stimulate the hair follicles aiding in hair growth, so we'll see if it works. Check back February 15 to see my progress!

Have you had a too short haircut and tried to grow your hair out? Are you trying to grow your hair longer? Are you also taking part in my growth series? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I always say I'm going to grow my hair out and then end up chopping it all off! I admire your patience! lol. Seriously.

    1. I used to be the same way, Kristel! It's like, we wait for it grow and we get frustrated and cut it! Haha, thanks for reading :)

  2. Your hair has grown a lot in the last few months! I prefer my hair to just stay short, so sometimes I'm annoyed by how fast it grows because I don't want to get a haircut already. haha!

  3. This is so fun!! Your hair is really getting long now! I've had my hair thinned out way too much one time and I just waited for it to get thicker again, which felt like an eternity.

    1. Thank you, Anna! It does feel like an eternity... I asked for long layers a while back and somehow walked out with random, short, chunky pieces and it was so thin! Thanks for reading :)
